The Pioneer Day Committee is pleased to invite you to participate in our 28th Annual Pioneer Day Festival in Mayo, Florida.  If you are a returning vendor, then we extend to you a warm welcome back to our town and festival.  If you are a first time participant, we feel that you will be glad you came.  The weekend is sure to be full of excitement and activities.  We have a wonderful agenda planned for all who participate.  This year the Parade will on Saturday, October 13th, 2007.  It will begin at 10:00AM and travel down Main Street. The Festival will be held on Saturday 9am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 5:00pm.

 

Security will be in place all day Saturday and Sunday during the event and all night Friday and Saturday for the convenience of our vendors and is provided by a certified law enforcement officer.  During the event, The Lafayette County Sheriffs Department will have a rapid deployment center in the park.

 

Mayo Town Park will be open for setup beginning on Friday October 12th.  Vehicles will only be allowed in the park from 5:00PM to 8:30AM on both Friday and Saturday Night.  All vehicles must be out of the park by 8:30AM each morning.  No vendor will be allowed to break down until closing time.  Any vendor found breaking down their booth before closing will not be invited to participate next year.

 

Spaces will be given on a first come first serve basis. Applications must be postmarked before August 31st, 2007 to avoid a 10% late fee.  Be among the first to send in your application early and receive the best space available.  Please note that all applications MUST be completed in full.  Any incomplete applications will not be processed, so be sure to include a contact phone number and email address if possible.

 

The State of Florida requires all vendors to have tax identification numbers.  If you do not have a tax number you will be able to obtain a temporary tax number by contacting the Department of Revenue in Lake City Florida.  Their number is (386) 758-0420.

 

Due to safety concerns raised by the Sheriff Department of Lafayette County, please be aware the following items are NOT allowed to be sold during Pioneer Day Festival.

Ø      Poppers, fire crackers or any explosive device, regardless of strength.

Ø      Any item that creates a difficult to clean byproduct such as Silly String or confetti

Ø      Slingshots, wrist rockets or other human powered projectile weapons such as;

o        slings, bows & arrows or blowguns.

Any vendor found to be offering these items will be required to leave and no refund of application fee will be given.

 

The Pioneer Day Committee reserves the right to refuse to allow any vendor, solicitor or patron to participate in the Pioneer Day Festival.
